Definition
The method of applying - noninvasive* treatment by applying ointments, powders, pastes on damaged areas and points. This method relates to external treatment methods of Traditional Chinese medicine.

History
The earliest records about this method of treatment are in the most ancient Chinese medical book "Recipes for 52 kinds of diseases". In the "Treatise of the Yellow Emperor" is a description of the treatment of the syndrome of wind in the blood with a paste of cinnamon. During the Ching Dynasty and Tang Dynasty, following the development of the external treatment methods, appeared scientific research, new developments in the field of joint usage of the method of applying with different methods of therapy. For example, a method of applying medication to the bioactive points significantly increased the therapeutic effect.
